This was produced for me by my good friend Andy Kern who was mostly working with Lyle Lovett and the brilliant Lewis Story at the time. Lewis is another one of those great writer/artists who had major label backing but couldn’t be pigeonholed and so couldn’t be sold and wound up going back to teaching English in public school, never to be heard from again. Anyway, I handed Andy a very rough garage demo of this song that was pretty much a roots rock/rockabilly kind of thing, and this is what he heard and gave back to me. Think I am going to put it on the CD as a tribute to him. I can’t find him anymore since he moved to the northwest, but he was an amazing producer/engineer and player. He would always move me to the front of the line in his work schedule, because he considered me an “artist” and not just another session job. I was flattered and honored by that, given the company he kept. Thanks for listening as always.
